Brian Peckford – Last Living Signatory of The Charter of Rights & Freedoms

SAM recently had the pleasure of interviewing the Honourable Brian Peckford — former Newfoundland Premier and the last surviving drafter and signatory of the 1982 Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

During our in-depth conversation, Mr. Peckford broke down the process of drafting the Charter, shared his experience with former Prime Minister Pierre E. Trudeau, and discussed his re-entry into the political arena after denouncing the Canadian Government for infringements on the Canadian Charter of Rights.

Mr Peckford is currently in a lawsuit against the Canadian Federal Government for their infringement of Section 6 of the Charter, the right of all Canadians to travel freely within and out of the country.
